2025 GREAT SLAVE YACHT CLUB – SEASON OPENING UPDATES

We recently concluded our seasonal work parties to launch the 2025 boating season. Thank you to everyone who assisted with this work.

Please review the following information and updates.

 WORK COMPLETED TO GET SEASON UNDERWAY:

  •      Washroom renovation - clubhouse. A new door, vanity, sink, toilet and new flooring were installed (see photo).
  •     Rebuilt top decking on outer barge (see photo).
  •     New pin locks installed on barge gates.
  •     Fuel dock area rebuilt.
  •    Finished skirting around clubhouse.
  •     Replaced two windows in clubhouse. A third window will be replaced next year.
  •  Various minor repairs including but limited to water line replacement; security camera update finalized; 5/16 minus gravel added to parking lot.
  •   Please note, we have few small projects that need some assistance to get wrapped up, please let us know if you can spend some time to help over the next few weeks, time will count toward the work party credits.

NEW SAFETY EQUIPMENT

  •   New fire extinguishers purchased for clubhouse and barges.
  •   Two new spill kits added, we have three total now.
  •   These will be installed with new signage shortly.

ANNUAL BARBECUE – FRIDAY, JUNE 27

  •    The Great Slave Yacht Club BBQ will take place on Friday, June 27, 6 to 9 p.m. at the clubhouse. We hope to see you there.
  •   We are looking for volunteers to help organize and run the BBQ, please let the board know if can assist with set up and getting the foods picked up.
  •   Anyone who wants to bring any foods this would be great as well.

SLIP ASSIGNMENTS AND SUBLETS

There are 6 new slip-holders and 3 slips being sublet this season.

If you have concerns or issues with your slip, once you’ve had a chance to test it with your boat in the water, please let us know as soon as possible.

RECYCLING DONATIONS

  •     The local Boy Scouts have set up bins on the barges by the gate and would appreciate your recyclables. Please do not put trash in these bins.
